Box Score

Coming off a  victory over Albion on Saturday, the Alma College Women's Basketball team hit the road on the Tuesday to take on Siena Heights University, the 13th ranked NAIA team in the country. Despite a career-high 24 points by Jr. F. Raeanna Zink (Birch Run/Frankenmuth), the Scots fell to the Saints 64-56 inside the Siena Heights Fieldhouse.

"Siena is a very nice team with many threats and they are number 13 in the NAIA, said Alma Head Coach Kris Johnson. "We had a bad five minute stretch in the first half that put us in a hole. We fought back and shot better, but we did not have enough time left. It was a great effort by our girls!"

With the loss, Alma drops to 3-5 on the year, while Siena Heights improves to 9-2 overall.

The Scots found themselves down 5-0 early in the first half, but the vistors would battle back to tie the score 9-9 thanks to a triple by Jr. G Mallory Pruett (Ishpeming/Ishpeming).

Alma would gain its biggest lead of the first half at 14:11, taking the 13-9 advantage after a layup by Sr. G Morgan Henry (Wayland/Wayland Union).

The Saints would put together a 4-0 run to tie the score at 13-13, before a free throw would give the home team the lead back at 14-13 with just over 10 minutes to play.

Despite the Scots best efforts, Siena Heights would extend the lead in the remaining minutes to head into the locker rooms up 34-21.

Alma faced a double-digit deficit for a majority of the half, and despite ending the game on a 5-0 run, the Scots would fall on the road 64-56.
