Alma Wrestling defeated Grand Valley State University 34-7 on Friday evening

On Friday evening, the Alma College Wrestling team hit the road to take on Grand Valley State University and came away with a 34-7 road victory. The Scots won seven of the nine contested bouts and will next compete at the Elmhurst College (Ill.) Invitational next weekend.

"I felt we were very rusty at the start since we hadn't had been on the mats for a while," said Alma Head Coach Todd Hibbs. "But, we wrestled better as the night went on and it is rewarding to pick up the win."

Highlights of the night included heavyweight Fr. Adam Robinson (Mason, Mich./Mason) picking up a win to improve to 21-6 on the season and So. Jared Groeneveld (Allendale, Mich./Allendale) winning at 184 pounds.

The eighth win of the night came when So. Casimer Strzynski (Ludington, Mich./Ludington) won by forfeit.
