On Saturday, the Alma College Wrestling program competed in the Mid-States Tournament held at Mt. St. Joseph College. The Scots had four wrestlers who earned third place honors in their weight classes during the competition. As a team, Alma finished fourth out of six teams with 128 total points.

"Obviously, all of our third-place finishers wrestled very well, including Mason Ley who had a breakout performance, said Scots Head Coach Todd Hibbs. "It is a good sign for his senior year next year when he drops to 197 for us. We were also really pleased with the overall team effort. Guys like Brandon McLaughlin and Charlie Kempf wrestled some of their best action all year. To finish ahead of two teams that defeated us earlier in the year in duals was a sign of progress for us."

The third place finishers included: Fr. Collin Lesko (Tecumseh, Mich./Tecumseh) at 125, Jr. Matt Tuttle (Reading, Mich./Reading) at 165, Fr. Paul Mikhijan (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams) at 184 and Jr. Mason Ley (Millington, Mich./Caro) at 285.
