Scots Wrestling took part in the Olivet College Wrestlng Duals on Saturday

The Alma College Wrestling team competed in the 2011 Olivet College Duals on Saturday afternoon and came away with an 0-4 mark. The Scots lost by scores of 24-15 (Bridgewater), 35-9 (Wisconsin-Whitewater), 21-18 (Heidelberg) and 26-17 (Manchester). The team will take part in the Ohio Northern University Invitational on December 3.

"In most cases the guys are continuing to improve, as they wrestle hard and score points in matches, as well winning individual bouts and keeping us in duals," said Alma Head Coach Todd Hibbs. "Many of them are being pressed into varsity competition earlier than usual. But, when they wrestle confidently and without fear, they are performing well."

Even though the final team results were not exactly what the Scots wanted, eight individual wrestlers won their matches during the course of the day, including three multiple match winners. Fr. Collin Lesko (Tecumseh, Mich./Tecumseh) won all four of his bouts at 125 pounds, while Jr. Matt Tuttle (Reading, Mich./Reading)  won three at 158 pounds and Fr. Jared Groeneveld (Allendale, Mich./Allendale) was victorious in two at 174 pounds.

Collin Lesko, Jared Groeneveld and Matt Tuttle won four, two and three matches respectively at Olivet on Saturday
