The Alma Women's Basketball team hit the road on Tuesday evening with the tough task of beating the #4 Hope College Flying Dutch. The home team took an early 13-0 lead and never let the visiting Scots get back into the game, as Hope won the game by a margin of 76-52.
Hope jumped out to a 45-16 halftime lead as Alma was a very cold 17% from the field. The Scots were not able to make a run as the Dutch kept a very comfortable lead throughout the game. Jr. F Sydney Beckwith (Weidman,MI/BealCity) led Alma with 19 points.
"This wasn't really the game that we hoped for as a team," said Alma Head Coach Keisha Brown. "We did not get it done tonight against a very good Hope team. We saw the last game of four girls that meant a lot to this program and we can't thank them enough for their contributions."
