The Scots Women's Basketball team continued its three-game Ohio trip on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to John Carroll University. Alma came out on the short end of a 68-49 score as the Scots saw their 2009-10 record drop to 2-8, while the home team improved to 4-5 on the season.
John Carroll jumped out to an 11-2 lead, as the hosts led the contest wire to wire en route to the victory. Alma trailed 32-21 at the half and were never able to catch John Carroll, as they were outscored in the second half by a margin of 36-28 in the final 20 minutes.
Alma was led in scoring by Jr. F Sydney Beckwith, who finished the afternoon with 19 points and also contributed six rebounds. Sr. F Meagan Hoblet led the squad with eight rebounds and also had nine points. So. C Aubrey Maxa had a team-high three assists.
The Scots next play on Monday afternoon, when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan for a 3:00 tilt.
