The Alma College Women's Basketball Team (8-11, 5-7) went into Adrian College (8-12, 6-6) on a three game win steak and almost extended to four before losing in overtime by the score 76-70.
Still playing without starter Meagan Hoblet (Cadillac/Cadillac) the Scots came out in the first half and hung up a 37-27 lead heading into the break. However, the second half belonged to Adrian as they rallied back to force the game into overtime. Overtime saw the Maroon and Cream hit only 2-9 from the field as Adrian came away with the win.
In the absence of Hoblet, several Scots have stepped up to fill the void but none more today than freshman Stephanie Bradshaw (Livonia/Churchill) who came off the bench to score 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting for the Scots.
Senior Forward Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel Catholic Central) broke the 1,000 point barrier with her 16 point, ten rebound performance. With the 16, Matuzak sits with 1,013 career points, putting her in the top 15 all-time at Alma College.
Matuzak will look to continue to climb up the record books as the Scots host Tri-State University this Wednesday, Feb. 13, for a 7:30 tip-off.
