WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Scots Put a Whole Game Together, Defeat 12-2 Albion by the Score 76-57

Alma, Mi.- The Alma College Scots (2-4, 4-8) welcomed the Britons from Albion College (5-2, 12-3) to Cappaert Gymnasium and came away with the upset win in a big way.

The Maroon and Cream, who have struggled shooting in the second half all season, finally came out of their slump and showed how dangerous of a team they can be when they are playing well. As a team, the Scots 54% from the field and 43% from behind the three point arc in the big conference win.

Senior Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel C.C.) played outstanding for the Scots scoring 21 points on seven of 10 shooting and adding six rebounds and three assists. Heather Keenan (Charlotte) also came up big for the Scots, netting 18 points and grabbing three boards in the game. Standout Meagan Hoblett (Cadillac) continued her dominate play, scoring 18 points and grabbing seven rebounds for the Scots. Lauren Hasler (Mt. Pleasant/Sacred Heart) and Kathryn Bigelow (Alma) each also contributed solid play in the win, recording six points-five assists and four points-seven assists respectively.

The Scots will look to follow up this big conference win with another as they travel to Rochester College this Saturday the 19th for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
