Alma, Mi.- The Alma College Women's Basketball Team came into tonight's game against the Saints of Siena Heights looking for their second win of the year but came up empty behind a poor shooting performance and a 7-12 explosion from behind the three-point arc for the Saints in the second half.
As a team, the Maroon and Cream shot a sub-par 37% from the field in the game and only 50% from the charity stripe. Senior Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel Catholic Central) showed why she is one of the best players in the MIAA as she kept the Scots close with her scoring, putting up 24 points for the Scots including going 4-4 from the outside.
Sophomore Meagon Hoblet (Cadillac/Cadillac) had another solid game for the Scots but struggled from the field, scoring 11 points on 5 of 19 shooting. Hoblet found other ways to contribute as she blocked three shots and pulled down 10 boards, five of which came on the offensive end.
The Scots finish up their three game home stand as they host Rochester College for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
