Alma, Mi.- The Scots (1-2) hosted Aquinas College for its home opener tonight at Cappaert Gymnasium and fell to the Saints by the score 75-56.

Alma played well in spurts but could not keep up with the Saints who shot nearly 50 percent from the field and out rebounded the Scots 33-20.

Week one MIAA Player of the Week, Meagan Hoblet (Cadillac/Cadillac), looked as though she was going to have another great game for the Scots as she put up 13 points in the first half, before netting only six in the second to finish with 19 points.

Senior Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel Catholic Central) is still battling injuries but managed to score 12 points in the losing effort.

The Scots will enjoy a  long weekend before hosting Concordia next Tuesday. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
