ALMA, Mich. - Alma College women's basketball lost 66-58 to Kalamazoo College Saturday, falling to 6-6 on the season and 2-3 in MIAA play. The Hornets improve to 3-10, 2-3 in MIAA play.

THe Scots were led by Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel) with 14 points and three rebounds to go along with three assists, two blocks, and two steals to her two turnovers. Alma was down 30-22 at halftime after a back-and-forth battle through the first 13 minutes of the game but Kalamazoo rallied to an eight-point lead by the break.

Coming out of the half, Alma first cut into the lead with a three-pointer by Matuzak to cut the lead to three, but Kalamazoo did not quit, extending its lead to 13 points on two different occasions late in the game. The closest Alma would come was within five points down the stretch after a key three-pointer by Keenan, but the Scots just could not close the gap.
