ADRIAN, Mich. - After a loss last Saturday to Kalamazoo, Alma rebounded with a 77-71 victory on the road at Adrian College Wednesday evening. Despite playing without Abigail Way (Fowlerville) who missed the trip due to illness, Alma had five scorers in double figures. Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel) led all scorers with 15 pointws, adding five rebounds and three assists to go with a block and two steals.
Emily Niemi (Skandia/Gwinn) added 13 points and five assists with two steals and three miscues. Both Terra Teague (Monroe) and Heather Keenan (Charlotte) both added 12 points while Courtney Lusk (Michigan Center) rounded out double-digit scorers with 10 points.
The Scots surrendered the lead just twice, and never by more than three points and extended their lead by as many as 13 late in the second half.
Alma returns to action this Saturday when they host Olivet College at 3 p.m.
