ALMA, Mich. - The women's basketball team scored just 21 points in the second half to lose to Albion 89-58 Saturday (Jan. 28). Darcie Philp (Ubly) had a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double in the loss while Katey Peacock (Gowen/Greenville) scored 18 points and Ashley Borcherding (Millingon) added 12 points.

Jessica Babcock led all scorers with 22 points for Albion.

The Britons dominated in the paint, out-scoring the Scots 42-8.

The first half saw the Scots struggle despite shooting 53 percent from the field as both teams dropped key shots from all over the floor. Albion took a four point 41-37 lead into halftime, but the second half was a different story as Albion out-scored the Maroon and Cream 48-21 in the second half. The Scots' shooting fell off in the second half, shooting 41 percent to Albion's 52 in the same stretch.

Alma returns to action Feb. 1 when it travels to Tri-State University on National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
