ALMA, Mich. - Alma College women's basketball fell to 6-6 overall and 1-5 in MIAA play with a 88-49 loss in Holland, Mich., Wednesday night (Jan. 12). Hope improves to 13-2 and 6-1 in the conference.
Alma was led by senior Michelle Dettling (Chelsea) with 12 points. Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel Catholic) added 11 and Erica Philp (Ubly) contributed 10 in the effort.
The Scots were out-scored 45-18 in the first half and played even ball in the second half but could not overcome the deficit created in the first stanza.
Hope landed just one player in double figures - Bria Ebels with 30 points.
Alma returns to action Saturday (Jan. 15) when the Scots host St. Mary's College at 3 p.m. The women's basketball alumni return to face the junior varsity at 1 p.m.
