Alma College

Nancy Dopke will enter her 18th academic year at Alma in the Fall of 2024, and serves as one of the Faculty Representatives for the Athletic Department at Alma College. Dopke is an Associate Professor in the Chemistry Department and has been Faculty Athletic Represntative since 2012. 

A professor at Alma since 2007, Dopke teaches Chemical Analysis and Inorganic Chemistry in the core sequence in chemistry as well as the upper level course Bioinorganic. Her research interests are varied. One branch of her research is centered on platinum-ruthenium heterometallic complexes investigating complexes of these two metals that are used in direct methanol fuel cells. Another branch uses mass spectrometry to determine the degree of polymerization of polyphenols in fruit.

Dopke earned her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemsitry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She received her Bachelors in Chemistry from Millikin University.
