Chris Sandro will enter his 6th season as Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach in the Fall of 2025.

He previously served as the head men’s tennis coach from 2006-2020 and head women's tennis coach from 2013-2020. 

Sandro has mentored and nurtured some notable players during his time with the Scots and they have been awarded league honors as a result. All-league honorees since 2006 in the ultra competitive MIAA have included Josh Gove (2012), Kace Lovejoy (2011) and Ahmet Kersad Demir (2006). In addition, Alex Montoye won the Allen B. Stowe Memorial Award and the Lawrence Green award after the 2010 season.

He works as a counselor in Alma Public Schools, a position he has held since 2001. In addition to his duties as counselor, he has also been actively involved in coaching activities, including working with football team in the fall.

Prior to taking over as head men’s tennis coach at Alma College, he has coached freshman football, freshman basketball and junior varsity tennis.

Sandro, a 1999 graduate of Hope College, played two years of competitive tennis for the Flying Dutchmen. In addition, Sandro earned his master’s degree in counseling from Central Michigan University.

He resides in Alma with his wife Jill and three children, son CJ and daughters Allison and Taylor.
