Catherine Boerner will enter her 10th academic year at Alma College in the Fall of 2024, and was named Athletics Healthcare Administrator in July of 2024.
Boerner has been a member of the Alma College Athletic Training staff since 2015, and was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer in January of 2021.
A native of Mount Pleasant, MI, Catherine earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training with a minor in Psychology from Aquinas College in 2012 where she was a member of the Track and Field program for four years.
She went on to earn her master's degree in Athletic Training at Western Michigan University, and as a graduate assistant, Catherine was the primary Athletic Trainer at Portage Northern High School. Before coming to Alma, she accepted a fellowship position at the University of Michigan and spent the year working with Women's Basketball, Women's Golf, and the Track and Field programs.
A former Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Catherine specializes in back and lower extremity rehabilitation with a philosophy primarily focused on corrective exercise and manual therapy techniques. She is also a Certified Instructor for the American Red Cross and focuses heavily on first aid and emergency action planning. She happily resides in Coleman, Michigan with her husband and kids.
