Chris Gaumond is the first head coach of the Alma College esports program and will enter his 6th season in the Fall of 2025.

Having led the development of the program since day one, the Scots broke through in 2023, when the League of Legends completed a perfect 8-0 season to win Peach Belt Conference Title.

"This is a dream come true," says Gaumond. "I'm overjoyed to be selected to lead Alma's program. I look forward to working closely with all of the fantastic people at Alma College and expressing my passion for this field through my work."

A native of Sanford, Mich., Gaumond helped establish an esports club team at Central Michigan University, competing for three years as a player and coaching two years. He owns a 62-21-3 all-time record as a coach and player and is a four-time participant in the Collegiate Starleague (CSL) Playoff Bracket for League of Legends where he earned a spot in the 99.9th percentile of all League of Legends players, as well as the 98th percentile of all Overwatch players, the 95th percentile of all Player Unknown Battlegrounds players, and the 90th percentile of all Fortnite players. Gaumond also coached two players to the 99.99th percentile in League of Legends.
