Alma, MI – Alma College Women's Wrestling opened dual meet action on Friday night, hosting Trine University. The Scots won in dominant fashion, securing a 45-0 shutout victory.
Ava Pike earned a forfeit at 103 to open the competition, before
Mia Sharp won by fall over Jazlynn Golder at 110.
Chloe Colton picked up a win by fall at 117, pinning Laylah Hicks, and a
Shai Curtiss pin of Angel Kreider at 124 moved the Alma lead to 20-0. The Scots went on to get three more wins by fall in the remaining matches.
Sarah Callender defeated Erin Scully at 131,
Ryen Allen pinned Madison Small at 138, and Dawn DeGood won at 145 with a pin of Kristine Piatt-Bakos. Another pair of forfeits given to
Camille Mitchell at 160 and
Gabriella Allen at 180 closed out the varsity competition.
In exhibition action,
Amelia Howell was defeated by Jenna Thompson via fall.
The Scots are off to a 1-0 dual meet start in the DuVall era, and are back in action on December 19 at the Northern Michigan Duals.
