Grand Rapids, MI – Alma College Swimming and Diving traveled to Calvin University on Saturday, taking on the Knights as well as the Albion College Britons in a double-dual. The Scots were swept on both the men's and women's sides.
Men (Calvin 166, Alma 63) (Albion 138, Alma 74)
For Alma's men, the relay team of
Ryan Gray,
Brent Riehl,
Max Nielsen, and
Owen Reed claimed a win over Albion in the 400-medley relay.
Eli Mull swept the 1650 freestyle and the 500 freestyle, nabbing a pair of 2
ndplace finishes in the 400 IM as well. Reed took home 2
nd against Albion in the 200 freestyle. Riehl took 1
stagainst Calvin in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Andrew Barrett took 2
nd in the 200 butterfly against Albion.
Women (Calvin 162, Alma 71) (Albion 114, Alma 82)
On the women's side, Madi Mendez took home a win over Albion in the 1650 freestyle, and took home a pair of 2nd place finishes in the 500 freestyle.
Grace Ludema swept the 500 freestyle, and scored a victory over Calvin in the 200 freestyle.
Emma Figlewicz won the 200 butterfly against Albion.
Laney Voisinet took 2
nd in the 100 freestyle against Albion.
Megan Neeley swept the 200 backstroke. Closing out the meet, the team of Neeley, Ludema,
Sofia Floros, and Voisinet combined to sweep the 200 free relay.
Alma is back in action on Senior Day against Kalamazoo on February 8, before heading to the postseason at the MIAA Championships
