Alma, MI – Alma College Swimming welcomed The University of Olivet and Manchester University on Saturday for double dual action in the McClure Natatorium. The Alma women swept the day, while the Scots men split the two meets.
Women: (Alma 164, Olivet 62) (Alma 171, Manchester 56)
The Scots women earned a sweep over the day, winning both of their meets comfortably. The 200 medley relay team of
Sofia Floros,
Laney Voisinet,
Emma Figlewicz, and
Grace Ludema combined to score a pair of victories to open the meet. Madi Mendez scored two wins in the 1000 freestyle.
Megan Neeley scored three sweeps, winning the 200 free, 500 free, and 200 IM in both meets. Floros went on to take a win in the 100 backstroke over Olivet. Voisinet went on to take home four second place finishes thanks to her efforts in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.
Emma Figlewicz won the 100 and 200 butterfly in both meets. Ludema swept both meets in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Lily Smith swept both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. To close out the day, Floros, Ludema, Mendez, and Neeley swept the 800 free relay.
Men: (Alma 169, Olivet 16) (Menchester 172, Alma 100)
For Alma's men, the relay team of
Ryan Gray,
Brent Riehl,
Max Nielsen, and
Owen Reed combined to win the 200 medley relay over Olivet.
Eli Mull scored four wins, sweeping the 100 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Reed went on to win the 200 free and 200 IM against Olivet.
Andrew Barrett picked up wins in the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle over Olivet. Riehl swept the 100 breaststroke, as well as the 100 freestyle.
Kyle Scheck won the 200 fly and 200 breaststroke against Olivet.
Ryan Gray swept the 200 backstroke. Nielsen scored a win in the 100 fly over Olivet. The relay team of Riehl, Mull, Nielsen, and Barrett swept the 800 free relay to close the meet.
The Scots are back in action on January 25 at Calvin for an MIAA double-dual with the Knights and Albion College.
