Alma, MI – Alma College Women's Wrestling welcomed Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday night for dual meet action. The Scots picked up their first home dual victory in program history, defeating the Yellow Jackets 30-20.
The meet opened with a forfeit victory for Alma, as
Keegan Gonzalez put the Scots ahead 5-0 at 117.
MaryAlice Lynch scored a team point going down in a tech fall defeat to make it 6-4, and BWU pulled ahead 9-6 with a win via fall at 131.
Another pair of forfeits put the hosts up 16-9, and
Gabriella Allen nabbed a win by fall at 160 to make it 21-9. The Yellow Jackets used a forfeit by Alma and a win via fall to make it back to 21-19.
MacKenzie Burger pushed the meet to the edge with a tech fall win at 103 to move the score to 25-20. With the outcome in the balance,
Caroline Farris closed out at 110 with a dominant victory by fall to seal the deal at 30-20.
The win provides Alma with positive momentum as they head into the Alma Open on Sunday.
