Mishawaka, IN – Alma College Swimming traveled to Bethel University (IN) on Saturday to take on Bethel, Aquinas, and Olivet. On both the men's and women's sides, Alma was defeated by Bethel and Aquinas, while defeating Olivet.
Men
Alma's men were defeated by Bethel 163-101, defeated by Aquinas 220-59, and beat Olivet 146-15.
Andrew Barrett won the 200 freestyle over both Bethel and Olivet.
Ryan Gray beat both Bethel and Olivet to the wall in the 100 backstroke, also winning over both teams in the 200 backstroke, and beating Bethel and Olivet in the 100 butterfly.
Brent Riehl scored wins over all 3 opposing schools in the 50 freestyle, also picking up a trio of wins in the 100 freestyle.
Kyle Scheck won the 200 breaststroke over Olivet.
Seth Stahl took home a win in the 500 freestyle. The relay team of Barrett,
Ryan Fowler,
Owen Reed, and
Max Nielsen won the 200 free relay over Bethel and Olivet.
Women
For the Scots women, they were defeated by Bethel 195-60, defeated by Aquinas 223-63, and beat Olivet 159-49. Madi Mendez scored a win in the 1650 freestyle, as well as the 500.
Sofia Floros picked up a win in the 200 freestyle.
Megan Neeley won the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly, also winning the 200 backstroke over both Bethel and Olivet.
Laney Voisinet won the 100 breaststroke.
Lily Smith took 2
nd in the 100 breast, winning the 200 breaststroke.
Emma Figlewicz took home a win in the 200 butterfly.
Grace Ludema scored victory in the 50 freestyle over both Olivet and Aquinas, also winning over both teams in the 100 freestyle. The 200 free relay team of Neeley, Voisinet, Floros, and Ludema picked up wins over Bethel and Olivet to close the meet.
Alma now sets their sights on the Malone Invite in a few weeks.
