Saginaw, MI – Alma College Swimming opened their 2024-25 season on Saturday, taking on Division II opponent Saginaw Valley State University on the road. The Scots were defeated on both the men's and women's sides.

For the men, the relay team of
Ryan Gray,
Kyle Scheck,
Andrew Barrett, and
Ryan Fowler combined to take 2
nd in the 200 medley relay to open the meet. In the 1650,
Eli Mull placed 4
th also taking 8
th in the 500.
Brent Riehl took 4th in the 200 free, finishing 6
th in the 50 free, and 8
th in the 100 fly.
Ryan Gray scoreda pair of 2
nd place finishes in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke.
Kyle Scheck took 3
rd place in the 200 breastroke.
Women: SVSU 232, Alma 43
On the women's side,
Sofia Floros,
Lily Smith,
Emma Figlewicz, and
Kylie Demarets combined to pick up a 3
rdplace finish in the 200 medley relay.
Madilynn Mendez scored a 4
th place finish in the 1650 free.
Grace Ludema finished 4
th in the 200 free, also picking up a 2
nd place finish in the 100 freestyle. Floros finished 4
th in the 100 backstroke, also finishing 6
th in the 500 freestyle. Smith finished 2
nd in the 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
Laney Voisinet finished in 5
th place in the 50 freestyle.
Megan Neeley finished 5
th in the 200 backstroke, and scored a 6
th place finish in the 100 butterfly.
The Scots have their 24-25 campaign off and running, and are back in action on October 18
th at the MIAA Relay Invite.
