School Record Broken as Track and Field Races at Jack Skoog Open

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Alma College track and field teams took a short trip up 127 to compete at the Jack Skoog Open hosted by Division I Central Michigan University on Saturday, January 20th. The Scots had a strong showing against tough competition including a school record broken.

On the women's side, Lauren Brawt continued her solid freshman season by breaking the school record in the 600-meter run. Brawt ran a time of 1:44.31 breaking the previous time of 1:50.60 ran by Stephanie Davis. Brawt placed fourth place in the event finishing behind all Division I runners from Central Michigan. Ramirez threw for 13.76 meters, almost clearing her PR from a week ago by a meter. Helena Snyder was the champion in the high jump as she cleared 5'1", just two inches off of her personal best. Reagan Keyser finished third in the high jump as she cleared 4'9.5". Snyder also placed fourth in the long jump with a jump of 4.80 meters. On the men's side, freshman Blake Herr also saw his personal records fall. In the 60-meter dash, Herr ran a time of 7.15 to place in third overall. Herr then placed seventh in the 200-meter run with a time 23.87, another personal best. Chandler Holloway placed fourth in the 200-meter run with a time of 23.63, the Scots top finisher in the event. In the 400 meters, Landon Jennings walked away as the champion with a time of 53.77, taking the top spot. Will Maginity and Andersen Strand finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 600 meters as they ran times of 1:31.57 and 1:31.66.
