HOLLAND, Mich. — The Alma College Swimming and Diving team closed out its season at the 2022 MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, Feb.19. The Scots finished in sixth place for both men's and women's teams.
"We had a great meet; our team made their swims mean it in the morning and then brought it back at night to drop time and improve on placement," Head Coach Nick Polzin said. "We saw a lot of personal and season bests throughout the meet, and I can't praise this team enough on their passion for their sport and their team."
Dani Ries broke the 100-meter fly school record with a time of 59.93 and took 10th place overall. Jennifer Ostrowski took fourth place in the 100-meter breast with a time of 1:08.07 and took 11th in the 200-meter breast at 2:31.26. Megan Neeley took 10th place in the mile at 18:39.07 and 11th place in the 200 back at 2:14.97. Nate Sutton took sixth in the mile with a time of 16:33.07.
Ostrowski received the 2022 MIAA Senior Impact Award at the conclusion of the championship.
"We're so proud to have Jen be awarded the inaugural Senior Impact Award. She is a leader in the classroom, campus community and on our team. More than that, she's a caring and passionate person who lifts others up. She will certainly be missed, but we know she'll do amazing in everything she puts her mind to," Polzin said.
