Men's Swim and Dive Begins MIAA Champioships

Grand Rapids, Mich.- The Alma College men's swim and dive team traveled to Calvin University for day one of the season finale MIAA Championship meet on Thursday (Mar. 11). The Scots are currently sitting in sixth place in the team standings with 126 points. The host Knights are in the lead after day one.

In the 800 yard freestyle relay, sophomore Nate Sutton teamed up with senior Max Carey, freshman Matt Arrigoni, and freshman Luc Lawson to earn a sixth place finish in the event. They finished with a time of 7:35.19. Sutton and Carey were also apart of the 400 yard medley relay team along with freshman Andrew Ludden and sophomore Andrew Smith. They also earned a sixth place finish with a time of 3:45.48.

The 500 yard freestyle saw Sutton earn sixth place in that event, where he swam 4:47.60. 

The Scots will head back to Calvin for the final day of the MIAA Championship meet. Action gets underway at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (Mar. 13).
