Alma, Mich. - Haley Novak (Midland, Mich. / Bullock Creek) of the Alma College volleyball team has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Specialist of the Week.
Novak wins the award for the second time in a row after helping the Scots to a 3-0 week. On Tuesday at Adrian, the sophomore had 51 assists and 13 digs. She followed that up Saturday against Anderson with 36 digs and a season-high .571 hitting percentage. In Alma's second match of the day at Franklin, the setter recorded 32 digs and 12 assists.
This is the third time this season Novak has earned the honor. She currently ranks second in the conference with 9.55 assists per sets and third in the MIAA with 630 total helpers.
Novak and the Scots will play one final regular season home game Tuesday (Oct. 16) against Olivet College. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Before it kicks off, the 2018 senior class will be honored.
