Women's Tennis Falls to Grace College

Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's tennis team fell to Grace College (Ind.) 8-1 on Saturday (Sept. 29). Alma is now 1-2 on the season, while Grace improves to 12-3. Caroline Ross (Sandusky, Mich. / Sandusky) and Bernadette Garibay (Lansing, Mich. / Grand Ledge) won the only game for the Scots 8-4 in a doubles match against Morgan Mast and Shelby Bankson.

Brooke Butterfield (Portland, Mich. / Portland) fell to Emily Mast in the #1 singles game 6-1, 6-2. Abby Davenport also took three games from Jenna Jackson in a two-set match.

Butterfield and Lucy McCarthy (Rockford, Mich. / Rockford) took four games from Grace in the #2 doubles match but ultimately ended up falling to Carrie Copeland and Molly Fitzpatrick. In the other singles matches, Hannan Hakim, McCarthy and Emily McDonald (Wheeler, Mich. / Bullock Creek High School) all fell.
