Alma, Mich. – Sophomore Ashley Oldham (Gilbert, Ariz. / Chandler Basha) of the Alma College women's soccer team has been named MIAA Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday (Sept. 16) due to her performances over the weekend against Franklin College (IN) and Anderson University (IN). This is the second straight week a Scot has been recognized with a weekly conference honor.

Against undefeated Anderson on Saturday (Sept. 14), Oldham held down the back line for the entire regulation period plus two overtime periods, leading the defensive line to a tie game of 1-1. Anderson took 13 shots in the game, but only five of them made it to Ally Wentworth (Mt. Pleasant, Mich. / Mt. Pleasant) in net.

The next morning, Oldham gave another 90-minute performance in Alma's 2-0 win over Franklin College (IN). Her first goal of the season came less than one minute after Alma's first goal and sealed the victory for the Scots. She headed in a perfect 45-yard cross from Taylor LeMasters (Minnetrista, Minn. / Waconia) who now leads the team in assists.

Alma will return to Scotland Yard on Saturday (Sept. 21) to face Concordia University (IL) at 11:00 a.m.
