Women’s Soccer Battles to 1-1 Tie with Anderson

Anderson, Ind. - The Alma College women's soccer team and Anderson University (IN) played to a 1-1 tie on Saturday (Sept. 14), Alma's first of the year.

Lily Stephan (DeWitt, Mich. / DeWitt High School) scored Alma's only goal with an assist from Dakota Booher in the 70th minute. It came in response to Morgan Reed's goal in the 25th.

Stephan led all players with three shots on goal. Tori Aquilino (Plymouth, Mich. / Canton), Shelby Conrad (Chesterfield, Mich. / Dakota High School) and Booher each posted one. Ally Wentworth (Mt. Pleasant, Mich. / Mt. Pleasant) made four saves in goal.

The game finished as evenly as it was played. Alma outshot the Ravens 15-13, Anderson was called for 15 fouls to Alma's 10, and both teams took three corner kicks. While Wentworth saw five shots on goal, Anderson's D'Anjrea Allen saw six and stopped all but one.

The Scots turn right around for a game at Franklin College (IN) on Sunday morning. Kickoff is set for 11:00 a.m.
