Women’s Soccer Upends Heidelberg 2-0

Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's soccer team handed Heidelberg University (OH) its first loss of the season on Friday (Sept. 6) afternoon 2-0. Both teams are now 2-1 overall.

Paige Moore (St. Johns, Mich. / St. Johns High School) scored her first career goal in the 59th minute when she blew past Heidelberg's back line. Tori Aquilino (Plymouth, Mich. / Canton) added to Alma's tally with a penalty kick in the 65th minute.

The Scots heavily outshot the Student Princes 20-11. Each team was called for 13 fouls and a yellow card was given to one player on each team: Heidelberg's Madison Zimmerman and Alma's Shelby Conrad (Chesterfield, Mich. / Dakota High School).

The Scots have one day off before returning to the pitch to host Mount St. Joseph University (OH) on Sunday (Sept. 8) at 1 p.m.
