Moyer Scores in Women's Soccer's Loss at Adrian

Adrian, Mich. - The Alma College women's soccer team fell 6-1 to Adrian College on Saturday (Sept. 29). Senior Lexi Moyer (Suttons Bay, Mich. / Traverse City West) scored her first goal of the season and sophomore keeper Ally Wentworth (Mt. Pleasant, Mich. / Mt. Pleasant) made ten saves in the loss. The Scots fell to Adrian 1-0 just 10 days ago.

McKenna Mahoney and Megan Louwers each scored twice for the Bulldogs. Raquel Church and Caroline Fleming posted one goal each.

The Scots are now 2-7-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the MIAA. Adrian is 5-4-1 and 2-0.

What Happened

  • Maroney scored 2:11 into the game on a header from a corner kick. She scored again in the 17th minute from inside the box.
  • Moyer's scored in the 24th minute off a free kick from 30 yards out. It came in response to Adrian's third goal of the game.
  • The Bulldogs took a 4-1 lead just before the end of the half. Its final two goals were scored in the 51st and 69th minutes.

Notables

  • Ally Wentworth's 10 saves are three off her career-high, set earlier this season also against Adrian.
