Women's Soccer Drops Opening Game of Season

Cincinnati - The Alma College women's soccer team dropped its first game of the season 2-0 to Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday (Sept. 1).

Sophomore Ally Wentworth (Mt. Pleasant, Mich. / Mt. Pleasant) saved five of the Lions' seven shots, while freshmen Isabella Wingate (Canton, Mich. / Canton) and Emma Yeager (Twentynine Palms, Calif. / Twentynine Palms) each tallied shots for Alma.

Stefanie Autenrieb and Kaylan Gruber each scored for Mount St. Joseph. The Lions took eight shots in the contest.

How It Happened

  • Autenrieb's goal came in the 26th minute and was assisted by Paige Mersmann.
    Gruber scored unassisted in the 65th minute.

Notables

  • Mount St. Joseph committed 11 fouls in the game to Alma's four.
