Scots draw with Albion, 1-1

Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to five games on Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon, posting a 1-1 tie in double-overtime with visiting Albion College at Scotland Yard. The Scots (5-3-3 overall, 4-2-3 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) are now 2-0-3 in their last five games.

Albion (4-6-2, 3-6-1 MIAA) opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Jenna Urso beat junior goalkeeper Kelsey Postema (Marshall, Mich./Marshall). Postema made 10 saves in the contest, stopping all of the Britons' shots after the initial goal.

Senior Macayla Greiner (Hart, Mich./Hart) tied the game in the 56th minute off an assists from senior Jessica Burg (Grand Ledge, Mich./Grand Ledge).

Both teams had their chances in overtime, with Postema making four saves in the two extra sessions while Albion's Maggie Troost made one of her four saves in extra time as the Scots were outshot, 25-16.

Alma remains home and will host Adrian College on Wednesday, Oct. 12, with the game slated for a 4 p.m. start.
