Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Cleary

Brighton, Mich. - The Alma College women's lacrosse team fell to Cleary University on Thursday (Feb. 13) afternoon in the team's season-opening game.

Olivia Benoit (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe North) led the Scots in goals (two), ground balls (five) and draw controls (four). Alyssa Gall (Richmond, Mich. / Richmond) and Johnna Pullen (Caledonia, Mich. / Caledonia) also each registered goals.

Allie Ray (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y. / Comsewogue) made 16 saves in 55 minutes of action. Freshman Madie Acosta (Fruita, Colo. / Fruita Monument) made an appearance in the final few minutes of her first collegiate game.

Ray added four ground balls to the team's total of 25. Pullen, Courtney Hartnagle (Midland, Mich. / Bullock Creek) and Ava Frederickson (Lowell, Mich. / Lowell) each had three. Pullen and Frederickson also each earned one draw control.

The Scots have nearly a week off before hosting Bethel College (IN) at Bahlke Field on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at 4:00 p.m.
