Freeland, Mich. - Junior goalie Allie Ray (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y. / Comsewogue) and junior midfielder Olivia Benoit (Grosse Pointe, Mich. / Grosse Pointe North) have been named to the All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Second-Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday (May 1).
Ray earns the honor for the third straight year. She topped her own program record for saves in a single season with 220 this year. Her saves per game average of 15.71 was the best mark across all divisions of NCAA women's lacrosse. Ray is already the program's all-time leader in saves with 564. She is also one of four players in program history with over 100 ground balls.
Benoit is recognized as an all-conference player for the first time in her collegiate career. She scored 48 goals, the eighth-most an Alma player has scored in a season, and finished the year as the team leader in draw controls with 55 and caused turnovers with 21. Benoit is among the top five on the program's all-time list in goals (fourth with 87), points (fourth with 103) and draw controls (fifth with 89).
