Freeland, Mich. - Junior goalie Allie Ray (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y. / Comsewogue) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's lacrosse defensive player of the week for her efforts in the final week of the season.
Ray made 21 stops against Hope, the fourth time she has made over 20 saves in a game this season. She followed that up with an eight-save performance in an 18-2 win in Alma's season finale.
Ray ends the regular season as the Division I, II and III leader in saves per game with 15.71. She is already the women's lacrosse program's all-time leader in saves with 564 and also the single-season leader with 220, which she set this season.
