Alma, Mich. - The Alma College women's lacrosse team went head-to-head against the Adrian College Bulldogs on Senior Day. The Scots' record dropped to 7-6 overall and 1-4 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association after the 16-9 decision.
Junior Shelby Frazer (Holt, Mich. / Holt), who led the team with four goals, got the Scots on the board in the opening minutes with an unassisted goal. This is the fifth time this season that the Scots were able to find the back of the net within the first few minutes.
Frazer scored her second goal of the game in the first half before being followed up by freshman Mia Harvey (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Northern), who scored her pair of goals in the first half. Harvey snatched a team-high three draw controls while also adding an assist.
In goal for the full 60 minutes was freshman Allie Ray (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y. / Comsewogue) who made 10 saves off 26 shots. This is the third game in a row and the eighth game this season where Ray has made 10+ saves in a game.
Ray also scooped up a team high ground balls, while senior Kilee DeBrabander (Marshall, Mich. / Marshall) followed behind with three. DeBrabander is currently fifth in the MIAA for ground balls.
The Scots will graduate four seasons on Saturday afternoon (April 22): DeBrabander, Darby Kahler (Coldwater, Mich. / Coldwater), Kaitlyn Urick (Glen Ellyn, Ill. / Glenbrand West), and Miranda Kruse (Ann Arbor, Mich. / Ann Arbor Pioneer).
The Scots will hit the road on Tuesday (April 25) to face the Kalamazoo Hornets before returning to Bahlke Field on Thursday (April 27) to host Trine University.
