Women’s Bowling Starts Season with Top-Ten Finish

Centerville, Ohio - The Alma College women's bowling team finished eighth in individual competition and sixth in Baker competition in its season-opening tournament, the Orange and Black Classic, over the weekend. The Scots put up 6917 points in individual competition 4243 points in Baker games.

Emma Davis (Horton, Mich / Hanover Horton) finished as the 21st best bowler in individual competition with a cumulative total of 892. She had a 217 in her fifth game. Josee Hale (Defiance, Ohio / Defiance Senior High) came in just behind her with an 883. Rachel Kuczajda posted a 213 in her second game; she averaged 182 in four games. Emily Zalenko (White Lake, Mich. / North Farmington) averaged 161 and Brooke Fornetti (Iron Mountain, Mich. / Iron Mountain) averaged 152 over three games. Kemmie Shunk averaged 171.5 in the top JV spot.

Alma returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27, at the American Heartland I and II Tournaments in Canton, Mich.
