Bowling Knocked Out in Semifinals at American Heartland Championships

Canton, Mich. - The Alma College bowling team finished in fourth place at the American Heartland Championships on Sunday (Feb. 24). In addition to the tournament, Emma Davis (Horton, Mich / Hanover Horton) was named First-Team All-Conference and Josee Hale (Defiance, Ohio / Defiance Senior High) was named Second-Team All-Conference.

The team began the tournament finishing fourth in the qualifier out of 16 teams with a total of 3725 points over five baker games, earning a spot in the four-team knockout-tournament against Indiana Tech, Adrian and Bowling Green. It advanced through that stage with a total of 776 points over four games to move on to the semifinal round where it was knocked out with 735 points. Indiana Tech would go on to win the tournament, beating Notre Dame (OH) 414-407.

The Scots will conclude their season with the singles and team sectionals on Friday, March 8 through Sunday, March 10.
