Columbus, Ohio - The Alma College women's bowling team finished in fifth place at the American Heartland III Tournament on Saturday (Jan. 26) and fourth at the American Heartland IV Tournament on Sunday (Jan. 27).
How It Happened
- The Scots scored 6418 total points in the third tournament and 6343 in the fourth. Alma's best game was a 945 in the fourth on Sunday; it started the day with a 930, its highest score of the weekend at that point.
- The Scots averaged 681 over seven baker games. Three of the team's four baker games on Sunday were above 700, topping off at 721.
- Rachel Kuczajda, Josee Hale (Defiance, Ohio / Defiance Senior High) and Emma Davis (Horton, Mich / Hanover Horton) each finished in the top three for the Scots on both days. Kuczajda led the team with an average of 181 over nine rounds, while Hale averaged 180 and Davis 179 while putting up a team-best 236 in the final game of the weekend.
- Alma is currently ranked 24th in the collegebowling.com rankings.
The Scots will travel to Indianapolis on Saturday (Feb. 16) and Sunday (Feb. 17) to take part in the at 50th Annual Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic.
