Adrian, Mich. - The Alma College bowling team finished in third place at the AC Open, hosted by Adrian College, on Saturday (Nov. 3). The Scots were led by freshman Kemmie Shunk, who had a season-best 180.50 average over four games.
The Scots bowled a huge third game, scoring a 920 - second in the tournament to only Judson's 945. Shunk and Brooke Fornetti (Iron Mountain, Mich. / Iron Mountain) each scored over 200 and Kasidey Easlick (Gladwin, Mich. / Gladwin) added a 195 in the game. It scored a total of 2666 points over four Baker games, including a team-best 726 in the first game.
Emma Davis (Horton, Mich / Hanover Horton) bowled a 176.75 average in the tournament, posting a 201 in the second game. Fornetti bowled a 173.67 average, her best of the season. Easlick also had a season-best 173.33 over three games.
- This tournament was the first Shunk finished as the team leader. Davis had been Alma's top bowler in its previous three tournaments.
- Brooke Fornetti bowled a 208 in the third round. It was her first 200 game of the season.
- Kasidey Easlick's 195 in the game was her second-best of the year. She bowled a 199 in the season-opening Orange and Black Classic.
The bowling team will compete in the 2018 Roto Grip Raider Classic in Kettering, Ohio, next weekend (Nov. 10 and 11).
