Women’s Basketball Has No Trouble With Earlham

Richmond, Ind. - The Alma College women's basketball team took down Earlham College (IN) - on Tuesday (Nov. 19). The Scots get back above .500 with the win at 3-2 while Earlham falls to 0-3.

The Quakers' only lead was 2-0; Alma scored the next 10 points and never looked back. The Scots maintained a 15 point lead until the fourth quarter when they opened up a 24 point lead.

Alma shot 47 percent from the field and 40 percent from three while holding the Quakers to 22 percent shooting. It also had 18 assists on 22 made field goals, but it struggled from the free throw line, making 11 of its 22 attempts.

Madison Hill (Midland, Mich. / Bullock Creek) and Hannah Thelen (Pewamo, Mich. / Pewamo-Westphalia) each scored a team-high 12 points. Hill made four of her six three pointers and added five assists.

Jeny Brandt (Escanaba, Mich. / Escanaba) had nine rebounds and three blocks. She leads the conference in rebounding with 10.6 per game and is fifth in blocks with 2.2. Emily Long (Dayton, Ohio / Arch Bishop Alter) had eight boards.

The Scots return home on Saturday (Nov. 23) when it hosts Anderson University (IN) at 3:00 p.m.
