Bluffton, Ohio - The Alma College women's basketball team fell to Bluffton University 62-49 on Monday (Nov. 11) evening. The game was delayed over two hours due to poor weather conditions.
Neither team shot well from the field, but Alma particularly struggled from three, going 4-for-25. Jeny Brandt (Escanaba, Mich. / Escanaba) filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and three steals. Stasha Warchock (Marquette, Mich. / Marquette) pitched in with nine points and five rebounds and Madison Hill (Midland, Mich. / Bullock Creek) added six points and five assists.
With the game tied at 28 early in the third quarter, Bluffton began to pull away with a 12-2 run. It led by as many as 16 late in the third quarter and Alma was unable to get back within single-digits.
The Scots pulled to within seven points with under four minutes remaining but missed their next shots.
Alma will head to Wheaton College this weekend for the Wheaton Tip-Off Tournament. It will face Wisconsin Lutheran College on Friday (Nov. 15) at 2 p.m. and will play a second game on Saturday.
