Naperville, Ill. - Five athletes from the Alma College track and field team took part in the second and final day of the North Central College (IL) Gregory Invitational Thursday (May 16) and four of them set new career achievements.
Kyle Kraus (Middleville, Mich. / Thornapple-Kellogg) finished tenth in the men's decathlon with a new personal high of 5756 points. His best finish in individual events was sixth in the discuss, which he threw 33.61 meters, less than one meter shorter than his previous longest throw. He also ran the 110-meter hurdles in 16.79, barely a half second slower than his best.
Lauren Kucharczyk (Livonia, Mich. / Churchill) beat her old record in the 400-meter hurdles by over three seconds, coming in at 1:16.93. She just missed her PR in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.16. Stephanie Davis (Elmira, Mich. / Gaylord) set a new personal benchmark in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.12. She also finished the 400-meter hurdles in 1:15.86.
Jacob Wildenhaus (Jackson, Mich / Lumen Christi) edged out his old personal record in the men's 110-meter hurdles by less than a tenth of a second, finishing at 15.36. Luke Reed (Benzonia, Mich / Benzie Central) finished the men's 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:35.01.
This marks the end of the 2019 season for the Scots.
