Freeland, Mich. - The MIAA released the new slate of athetes to receive weekly recognition today (Jan. 23) and senior Kaitlyn Arnold (Jackson, Mich. / Jackson Northwest) is included for the second straight week.
While the Alma College track and field team competed at the Doug Hansen Open at Saginaw Valley State University Friday (Jan. 20), Arnold traveled to Grand Valley State University to run the 3000-meter event at the GVSU Open.
Twice in just eight days, Arnold reset the school-record time for the 3000-meter run, first at the Jack Skoog Invitational with a 10:11.69, and then a 9:50.08 at the GVSU Open. The previous record before this season, set by Arnold last season, was a 10:17.34.
Arnold and the rest of the track and field team will be at Defiance College on Saturday (Jan.28) for the Defiance College Open.
