Scots Swimming and Diving participated in a double dual meet on Saturday afternoon

The Alma College Swimming and Diving team headed east to University Center on Saturday to take part in a double dual meet with Saginaw Valley State and Calvin College. It was a tough day in the water for both teams, as the men fell to Calvin 237-39, while the women lost to Calvin 187-113 and host Cardinals 174-125.

So. Bailey Sopjes (Dorr/Wayland) earned the lone victory for the Scot women on Saturday, claiming first in the one meter dive with a score of 236.40. She also took second in the three meter dive with 235.70 total points.

Jr. Jaclyn Shetterly (Muskegon/Mona Shores) had a solid all-around performance for Alma, taking second in the 1000 freestyle (11:17.57), 200 butterfly (2:19.84) and the 200 backstroke (2:11.84).

Jr. Hannah Schroeder (Lansing/Dewitt) took second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:33.09, and So. Sara Stemen (Livonia/Stevenson) claimed second in the 100 butterfly after touching the wall in 1:04.22.

Sr. Cody Kayser (Manistique/Manisitque) recorded the only victory on the men's side, taking first in the 100 butterfly in 54.68. He also took second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.50.

Sr. Daniel Biggs (Midland/H.H. Dow) took home second in the 50 freestyle in 22.47, and claimed third in the 200 breaststroke after touching the wall in 22.47.

Alma will welcome Albion College to the McClure Natatorium on Saturday, Nov. 15, for a meet set to start at 1:00 p.m.
