Creed, Stratton Named MIAA Players of the Week

Alma, Mich. - Sophomore third baseman McKenzie Creed (Edwardsburg, Mich./Edwardsburg) and senior pitcher Morgan Stratton (Grand Blanc, Mich./Grand Blanc) have been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Softball Athletes of the Week for their performances in the MIAA Tournament this past weekend.

Stratton earned victories in all three of Alma's wins and allowed an average of 1.6 runs, 3.6 hits an opponent batting average of .162 and six strikeouts per game. She fanned eight Trine batters in the championship game, allowing two runs on five hits. Stratton owns all four of Alma's wins over the Thunder this season.

Creed hit .583 in the postseason and slugged .833, leading the Scots in both categories as well as RBI (8) and total bases (10). She also had nine assists in the field. Creed hit her fourth home run of the year in the first inning of the title game to give Alma the lead for good.
