Men’s Soccer Comes Back from Down 2-0 to Beat Knox

Carthage, Wisc. - The Alma College men's soccer team erased a 2-0 deficit to defeat Knox College (IL) 3-2 on Saturday (Sept. 7) evening.

The Scots (2-2) got its first two goals from Noah Canlas (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central) and its last on a Prairie Fire own goal in the 85th minute. Knox got out to a quick start, scoring in the fourth minute, then again in the tenth. Canlas cut the lead in half in the 27th minute before tying the game in the 74th minute.

Canlas is now the team leader in goals this year with three, passing Danten McFate (). He also has an assist to his name. Garrison Mast (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven) made four saves; Jose Vicario (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Kelloggsville High School) had two in his first action of the year.

Three Scots were given yellow cards in the game: Connor McCain (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Central), Keaton Walker (Petoskey, Mich. / Petoskey High School) and Hunter Nash (Haslett, Mich. / Haslett). Knox's Alessandro Benelli also received one.

Alma gets right back on the pitch Sunday (Sept. 8) when it takes on Carthage College (WI) at 4 p.m.
